You may remember that a few months ago I recommended the work of illustrator Abigail Larson. In that recommendation, I discussed Abigail’s beautiful work in the children’s book, Monster Goose Nursery Rhymes. However, this is not Abigail’s first foray into children’s literature, before Monster Goose, there was Sarah Faire and the House at the End of the World. Sarah Faire had a limited first run of 500 copies, though it gained popularity and is an oft-requested title.
Abigail and the book’s author Alex Giannini would like to do a second run, but this is a 100% self-published venture. If you’d care to help this creepily delightful children’s title make it back to the shelves of all your little minions, please consider donating to the Kickstarter fund. There are some cool rewards, but the best one would be making this darling book available to young readers again. What I love so much about Abigail’s work is how it shows the beauty in darkness and I think that we could all use a little dose of that charm from time to time.
Please enjoy the absolutely gorgeous trailer for the book below. And for those wondering, yes, I did finally get that Night Circus pillow and it looks great in my office. Thank you for asking.
